SPEAK-A-KEY / AUTOSPEAK
I developed Speaker Dependent Voice Recognition for IBM PCs and XTs. I designed the hardware using a unique IC from NEC Japan (D7763D). The D7763D performed an Analog FFT. This allowed me to develop a terminate and stay resident application that performed recognition with the FFT data and insert assigned key strokes to the keyboard buffer. On a standard PC it used about 10% processing power. The software was written in C and Assembly. This was sold individually and bundled with a high end graphics card used for CAD.
